Canadian medics have a robust capability to provide front-line trauma care and getting wounded troops ready for evacuation back to the even more terrifying polar wastes of their homeland. Like many of their counterparts in NATO and allied nations, Canadian medics use a combination of cutting-edge tactical medicine and near-lethal doses of off-the-shelf painkillers and sock changes to keep troops in the fight.

Thanks to decades of fighting enemies for whom the Geneva Conventions are taken as a vague suggestion, if at all, medics are usually found with the same combat load as their fellow soldiers and are trained in basic infantry skills as well.
