While Ukraine operates a number of indigenous unmanned platforms, the bulk of its inventory at the small unit level is largely retrofitted or even unmodified commercial SUAS.

Ukraine has been a world leader in developing the military use of drones for everything from precision attack to artillery spotting, and as a result Ukrainian units fielded in Down Range may likely be equipped with first-person view attack drones and reconnaissance drones at a rate higher than most other forces.

Like other forms of remotely operated vehicle, Ukrainian drones require an operator to focus and signal each turn, and may relay information and move otherwise.
